Shea butter is traditionally used as a healing moisturizer in West Africa, where the plant grows well.

It is used to repair and protect dry skin and soothes irritated skin. It also heals scars and has natural SPF.

As shea butter also tightens the skin, it is also commonly used to improve our skin's elasticity around our thighs, arms and tummy.

Our Shea butter permeates a faint earthy scent.

Refined Versus Raw/Unrefined Shea Butter

Unrefined products like raw shea are not further processed after extraction. Products can be refined with or without chemicals. Heat, steam, water and pressure are common methods of non-chemical refinement. Both our organic and non-organic shea are refined without chemicals.

Raw /Unrefined shea butter retained all the nutrients it is well known for but may also contain impurities and has a stronger scent.

Refined shea is a more stable product (do not go off easily) and is a good choice for people with sensitive skin since raw shea may contain some impurities.
