Hard lip balm (suitable for lip balm tubes, makes two)
3g Beeswax (roughly 6 mixingbowl's beeswax pellets) 7.5 ml Sweet Almond/Jojoba oil (1.5tsps) |
Softer Lip balm (suitable for pots, makes 1 small pot)
1 g Beeswax ( half the beeswax for softer lip balm) 3 g Shea butter 10 ml Sweet Almond/Jojoba oil (2 tsps) |
Texture: You can remelt the lip balm to adjust the texture. Keeping the total amount the same, reduce beeswax or add oils for a less firm texture. For a more creamy texture, add more shea butter.
Method
Mix and melt all the ingredients in a double-boiler if you have one. If not, boil some water in a pot and put the mixing bowl (glass or metal) on top of the pot to melt the ingredients, stirring occasionally.
When the ingredients have completely melted, pour the liquid into our tin-coated stainless steel round tin. Let the liquid cool and it will gradually harden. Note that honey does not mix well and would need constant stirring.

Interesting measurements
2.5 cm beeswax = 1g 1Tbsp = 15 ml 1Tsp = 5ml In small quantities, mls are almost equal to grams
